CHiP’s Director, Abel Kho, featured in Northwestern Medicine Magazine
CHiP Director Abel Kho was recently featured in Northwestern Medicine Magazine, “Interventions in the Real World.” The article, which also spotlights the work of four other IPHAM investigators, features community-engaged research projects that tackle healthcare challenges and inequities. The story focuses on CHiP’s Healthy Hearts in the Heartland (H3) study of how quality improvement strategies for cardiovascular care can be leveraged in small, independent practices throughout the Midwest. In the article, Dr. Kho comments, “Community-engaged research is just doing good science […] By engaging people where they are, you move past just the priorities of science happening in the ivory tower. You end up getting at the real health priorities of people.”
